ILWTI GENERAL POLICIES

ILWTI is a division of Resource Lymphedema, LLC.

The International Lymphedema & Wound Training Institute (“ILWTI”) is committed to providing high quality, evidence informed education and professional certification programs. The following policies apply to ILWTI courses, certification programs, continuing education programs, TeleTraining, hybrid training, and onsite training unless different terms are specifically stated for a particular program.

By registering for an ILWTI course or program, the registrant acknowledges and agrees to the policies applicable to that registration.

CERTIFICATION AND PROFICIENCY STANDARDS

ILWTI certification programs, including CLWT®, CWT®, MLD-C™, and CCS™, require successful completion of all applicable educational and competency requirements.

Depending upon the program, requirements may include:

• Completion of required online or pre-course coursework
• Completion of required assignments and learning activities
• A cumulative quiz score of 70% or higher
• Attendance and participation during required live instruction
• Participation in workshops, demonstrations, and skills laboratories
• Demonstration of proficiency in required clinical skills
• Successful completion of applicable oral examinations, practicums, and competency testing
• A score of 80% or higher on applicable final examinations

Completion of course hours alone does not guarantee certification. Certification is awarded only after the learner has successfully completed all applicable academic, attendance, practical, competency, and financial requirements for the program.

ILWTI reserves the right to require additional demonstration of competency when an instructor reasonably determines that a learner has not demonstrated proficiency in a required skill.

REMEDIATION AND UNSUCCESSFUL COMPLETION

ILWTI is committed to helping learners successfully demonstrate competency.

If a learner does not successfully complete an examination, practicum, skills assessment, or other certification requirement, ILWTI may provide reasonable remediation opportunities, which may include additional instruction, reassessment, or auditing the applicable portion of a future course.

Remediation arrangements are determined by ILWTI based upon the nature of the deficiency, instructor availability, course availability, and the requirements of the applicable certification program.

Unless otherwise approved by ILWTI, remediation must be completed within 30 days of the learner's original course completion date.

Additional fees may apply when remediation requires substantial additional instructor time, materials, travel, repeated testing, or participation in a future course. ILWTI will communicate any applicable fee before the learner participates in the additional activity.

ILWTI does not guarantee unlimited remediation or certification. Certification requires successful demonstration of the applicable competencies.

ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION

Attendance is an essential component of ILWTI certification and continuing education programs.

Learners must attend the required instructional hours and actively participate in required lectures, laboratories, workshops, and activities.

For live online TeleTraining programs, learners are expected to participate from an environment appropriate for professional education and must have the technology necessary to participate effectively. When required by the instructor or applicable continuing education standards, learners must remain visible on camera and actively engaged during instruction.

Late arrival, early departure, extended absence, failure to participate, or missed instructional hours may prevent a learner from receiving certification or continuing education credit.

If required hours are missed, ILWTI will determine whether the hours or activities may be made up and what method of remediation is appropriate. Additional fees may apply when additional instruction or attendance at a future course is required.

ONLINE AND TELETRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Learners participating in online or TeleTraining programs are responsible for maintaining adequate internet service, audio and video capability, and a device suitable for participating in the program.

Learners are responsible for becoming familiar with the technology used for training before the program begins.

Temporary technical difficulties do not automatically excuse required attendance or participation. ILWTI will make reasonable efforts to assist learners experiencing legitimate technical problems, but learners remain responsible for completing all required course components.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Because ILWTI commits instructor time, course materials, technology, administrative resources, and training capacity when a registration is accepted, course registrations and payments are generally non-refundable.

ILWTI recognizes that circumstances can change and therefore provides options for eligible registrations to be transferred or rescheduled as described below.

Extenuating circumstances may be considered individually at ILWTI's discretion. Consideration of an exception in one situation does not create an obligation to provide the same exception in another situation.

TRANSFERS AND RESCHEDULING

A learner may request to transfer an eligible paid registration to another ILWTI course date or location, or transfer the registration to another eligible individual, provided:

• The learner has not begun or accessed substantial online course content or materials
• The request is received at least 30 days before the scheduled live training begins
• Space is available in the requested program
• The substitute learner meets all applicable eligibility requirements

Approved transfers meeting these requirements generally will not incur a transfer fee.

Requests received fewer than 30 days before live training, requests made after online training has begun, or requests involving materials that have already been provided may be subject to additional fees or may not be eligible for transfer.

Course registrations, credits, or deposits have no cash value and may not be sold or transferred without ILWTI's approval.

“SAVE MY SEAT” DEPOSITS

“Save My Seat” deposits reserve space in an ILWTI program and are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless otherwise expressly agreed to in writing by ILWTI.

The deposit will be applied toward the tuition balance for the applicable course.

The remaining tuition balance must be paid according to the payment terms provided at registration. For onsite programs, payment in full is required prior to the first day of onsite training unless ILWTI has approved other arrangements in writing.

Failure to pay the required balance may result in cancellation of the learner's reserved seat.

PAYMENT PLANS AND OUTSTANDING BALANCES

When ILWTI offers a payment plan or other payment arrangement, the learner remains responsible for the full amount due under that arrangement.

Certification documents, continuing education documentation, transcripts, or other completion credentials may be withheld until all applicable tuition and fees are paid.

Failure to complete an agreed payment arrangement may result in suspension of access to course materials or future ILWTI programs.

COURSE CANCELLATION OR SCHEDULE CHANGES BY ILWTI

ILWTI makes every reasonable effort to conduct courses as scheduled.

Occasionally, circumstances beyond ILWTI's reasonable control may require a change in instructor, training location, schedule, delivery format, or course date.

If ILWTI cancels a course, affected registrants will be contacted and provided appropriate options, which may include transferring the registration to another available date or location, receiving a course credit, or receiving a refund of tuition paid for the course when ILWTI is unable to provide a reasonable alternative.

ILWTI is not responsible for airfare, lodging, transportation, lost wages, lost business opportunities, or other incidental or consequential expenses incurred by a registrant as a result of a course cancellation, postponement, relocation, or schedule change.

Participants are encouraged to consider refundable or changeable travel arrangements when attending onsite training.

COURSE MATERIALS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

ILWTI course materials are proprietary and are provided solely for the personal educational and professional use of the registered learner.

Unless expressly authorized in writing by ILWTI, learners may not reproduce, record, photograph, distribute, upload, publish, sell, share, teach from, or otherwise disseminate ILWTI course materials, presentations, videos, manuals, handouts, proprietary treatment protocols, examinations, or other protected educational content.

Audio or video recording of ILWTI instruction is prohibited unless ILWTI has provided prior written permission.

Learners may not share course login credentials or permit another person to access paid ILWTI course content through their account.

Unauthorized use or distribution of ILWTI intellectual property may result in termination of course access or certification privileges and may subject the individual to additional remedies available under applicable law.

CERTIFICATION MARKS AND CREDENTIALS

ILWTI certification designations and trademarks may only be used by individuals who have successfully completed the applicable certification requirements and remain entitled to use the credential under applicable ILWTI requirements.

ILWTI's certification programs and marks include CLWT®, CWT®, MLD-C™, and CCS™.

Successful completion of an ILWTI educational program does not expand a learner's professional license or legal scope of practice. Each learner is responsible for practicing within the laws, regulations, professional standards, and scope of practice applicable to the learner's profession and jurisdiction.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

ILWTI provides continuing education documentation based upon the approvals and requirements applicable to each program.

Learners are responsible for confirming that a particular course or continuing education activity satisfies the requirements of their individual licensing board, professional organization, employer, certification body, or jurisdiction.

ILWTI cannot guarantee acceptance of continuing education credit by every licensing or regulatory authority.

Learners must satisfy applicable attendance, participation, evaluation, and completion requirements before continuing education documentation will be issued.

PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

ILWTI is committed to maintaining a professional, respectful, inclusive, and safe educational environment.

Learners are expected to interact professionally with instructors, staff, other learners, patients or models, host facilities, exhibitors, and other individuals involved in ILWTI programs.

ILWTI reserves the right to remove a participant from a course or training activity for conduct that is disruptive, threatening, discriminatory, unsafe, dishonest, significantly interferes with the learning environment, or violates ILWTI policies.

Academic dishonesty, falsification of attendance, sharing examination materials, impersonation of another learner, or other attempts to improperly obtain certification or continuing education credit may result in denial or revocation of course completion or certification.

CLINICAL EDUCATION AND SCOPE OF PRACTICE

ILWTI programs provide professional education and training. Course content is educational in nature and is not intended to replace independent clinical judgment, applicable professional standards, facility policies, or state or federal requirements.

Learners remain responsible for determining whether particular techniques, procedures, products, or interventions are appropriate for their patients and permitted within their professional license and scope of practice.

Participation in or completion of an ILWTI program does not constitute licensure to practice medicine, nursing, therapy, massage therapy, or any other regulated profession.

FINANCIAL AND NONFINANCIAL DISCLOSURES

ILWTI instructors are expected to disclose relevant financial or nonfinancial relationships when required by applicable continuing education standards.

ILWTI educational programs primarily focus on evidence informed, occupation centered, and clinically applicable education rather than promotion of a particular commercial product or service.

Products, devices, manufacturers, or services may be discussed or demonstrated when educationally relevant. Such discussion or demonstration does not necessarily constitute an endorsement by ILWTI.

ILWTI strives to appropriately separate educational content from exhibits, sponsorships, advertising, and other commercial activities.

NONDISCRIMINATION AND ACCOMMODATIONS

ILWTI is committed to providing a professional educational environment and does not discriminate against learners on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or other status protected by applicable law.

Learners who require a reasonable accommodation should contact ILWTI as early as reasonably possible before the applicable course so that the request can be evaluated and appropriate arrangements can be considered.

ILWTI will make reasonable efforts to accommodate eligible requests while maintaining the essential academic, attendance, safety, and competency requirements of its programs.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Many ILWTI certification programs include hands on instruction and practical skills laboratories.

Learners are responsible for informing the instructor of limitations that may affect safe participation in a laboratory activity. Learners should not participate in a technique or activity that they reasonably believe may place themselves or another participant at risk.

ILWTI may modify or restrict participation in a laboratory activity when reasonably necessary for health or safety.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING BY ILWTI

ILWTI may photograph or record portions of courses, events, or training activities for educational, documentation, or promotional purposes.

When individual consent is required by applicable law or the circumstances of the recording, ILWTI will obtain the appropriate authorization.

Learners who have concerns about appearing in photography or recordings should notify ILWTI staff.

COMPLAINT RESOLUTION

ILWTI takes learner concerns seriously and encourages participants to contact us so concerns can be reviewed and addressed.

Complaints should be submitted by email to brianyork@ilwti.com and should include the learner's name, telephone number, applicable course or program, and a brief description of the concern.

ILWTI will review complaints in good faith and will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the learner regarding resolution.

POLICY CHANGES

ILWTI may periodically update these policies to reflect changes in its programs, accreditation or continuing education requirements, technology, business operations, or applicable law.

Material changes will be posted on the ILWTI website.

Unless otherwise required by law or an applicable accrediting or continuing education authority, changes will not retroactively eliminate a material benefit specifically promised to a learner at the time of registration.
