Certified Compression Specialist

(4days, 32 CE hrs, 8am-5pm)

This training is invaluable to edema/lymphedema management in everyday clinical practice. The first two days of this certification focuses on advanced bandaging & decongestive compression options. Learn how to perform a bedside ABI. Master customized, full-limb, multi-layered bandaging systems that will not slip down, will aggressively soften fibrotic tissue, and stay in place for several days at a time. Expand your decongestive compression options with trimmable garments that reduce with the limb. Learn how to effectively and efficiently compress even the most advanced, Stage 3 lymphedema, with massive lobules. Everything you need is provided for hands-on training, as well as ample bandaging supplies for you to take back home.

The last two days of this training is focused on advanced compression garment selection and fitting, augmented by hands-on workshops throughout and two extremely useful clinical tools: Differential Diagnosis of Lower Extremity Edemas and the Compression Selection Guide. We dive into the engineering and construction of various types of medical compression garments to help you understand why two different types, with the same compression level, may not equally manage a patient’s edema. After completing this course, you can confidently select which compression your patient is most likely to be compliant with, and help them succeed in managing their edema/lymphedema.
