Course Description: 6 hr on-line CE course. Training includes a system for edema assessment to best match the individual patient presentation with an appropriate compression product. Assessed patient characteristics include distribution of edema and limb shape, tissue texture, edema etiology, precautions/contraindications, and time to refill. Complete compression profiles are discussed, including dosage, dosage distribution, stiffness and other textile characteristics, and product categories/subcategories. By defining compression prescription in terms of comprehensive compression product and individualized edema profile, S.T.R.I.D.E.™ establishes a foundation for compression product selection to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Course Objectives:

1. Differentiate between compression garment dosage and garment stiffness

2. Select the optimal garment textile for the individual edema presentation

3. Identify early soft tissue changes associated with lymphedema

Who Should Attend? All clinicians applying, prescribing or recommending medical compression garments; all individuals who use compression garments; compression garment fitters; DME providers; representatives from medical compression garment manufacturers.
